'Headbangingly brilliant.' - The Independent
'A belter.' The Financial Times
'Muchamore is second to none when it comes to getting inside teenagers' heads. Rock War is a rollercoaster read, full of breathtaking twists and turns ' - The Express

Jay plays guitar, writes songs and dreams of being a rock star. But his ambitions are stifled by seven siblings and a terrible drummer.

Summer works hard at school, looks after her Nan and has a one-in-a-million singing voice. But can her talent triumph over her nerves?

Dylan is happiest lying on his bunk smoking, but his school rugby coach has other ideas, and Dylan reluctantly joins a band to avoid crunching tackles and icy mud.

They're about to enter the biggest battle of their lives.

I REALLY WANTED TO BE A ROCK STAR...

I grew up loving music, but even more I loved the idea of becoming a rock star. As a teenager I bought records and read rock biographies, like Hammer of the Gods about the crazy antics of Led Zeppelin. I loved films about rock music, like The Wall and That'll be the Day. So in 2010, when I got the urge to write about something other than kids being spies,  a series of books about kids in bands seemed like a really great idea.

Everyone loved the idea of Rock War. We had a big launch party, tons of publicity, great reviews and I was sure these books were going to be huge. Maybe even bigger than CHERUB!

The only problem with Rock War was that no bugger bought the books. Which is a shame, 'cos I think Rock War is cool and different. I'm still really proud of them and I think you should proceed to your nearest bookstore and buy them all immediately...
